Lloyd Sutherland
Chief Engineer

Mr. Sutherland is a formally trained mechanical engineer with a varied research and development background. From 1981 to 1984, he was an Instrument Designer at Warner Lambert, where he designed mechanical systems for a blood coagulation and a microbiology diagnostic instrument. From 1984 to 1987, he was a Senior Project Engineer at Pfizer Hospital Products Group, where he was part of the Strategic Marketing Development Group, whose main function was to identify and develop new and innovative wound closure and surgical devices. Mr. Sutherland’s accomplishments include the redesign of the “skin staple”. He also secured patents for a sternum closure device and an intestinal stapler. He did engineering development work on the cardio-vascular stapler and the colon shield. He also co-authored FDA submittals and selected and monitored production vendors for compliance with FDA regulations. From 1988 to 1989, Mr. Sutherland was the Engineering Administrator for Avon Products, with the specific duties of managing a national and international group of development and production engineers within Avon’s fashion industry. From 1989 to 2002, Mr. Sutherland has been President, Chief Executive Officer and owner of Global Restorations, Inc., a Florida corporation operating in the European auto service area.  He has also continued to maintain an engineering consultant practice, wherein he has consulted on a number of engineering projects for small and developing device manufacturers.
